ROBERT HURAL, 1946-2014
| Robert "Bob" Hural of Cape
May, NJ, aka Bob Cheeks, Black Bob, and Bodysurfing Bob, passed away on Friday,
Oct. 11, 2013. He was 66 years old. The cause of death was a heart
attack.
Bob was an ocean lover. He and his wife, Chris, moved to Cape May
back in 1976, believing that the shore was the only place to be. In 1983, Bob and
Chris founded Cheeks, a woman's clothing store, on Ocean Avenue in Cape May.
Cheeks has become a favorite source of cool, comfortable clothing in natural
fabrics and classic styles. In 1995, the store started offering Flax by Jeanne
Engelhart to its patrons, and it is now well known for its large selection of Flax
Design Linens at great prices.
Bob is survived by his wife, Chris Hey; his
daughter/niece, Kris Cohen; his brother, John Hural and loving cousins. He was
predeceased by his parents John Hural and Eudoxia "Yudie" Hural (nee Hillias) and
his dog Edie.
Bob was a fixture at the Cove Beach in Cape May and a
"CELEBRATE BOB" event was held at the Cove at Sunset on Friday, October 18, 2014,
at 5:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers or mass cards, the family asks that you make
a donation to Animal Outreach of
Cape May County or Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue.
